I'm Anthony William, the medical medium.
I'm glad we're all here today.
I want to talk about compassion for ourselves, compassion for others.
I want to talk about peace.
What does peace even mean?
What does it really mean?
Does it mean a peaceful state in the world?
peaceful living, peace in your life in what way internally, peacefulness internally inside of our
soul? Does peace just mean everything's okay? Everything's happy? Everything's well? What does
peace even mean? And I want to go into it in depth because it's important that we actually can touch
peace and have it in our lives. And it's a critical part of survival here on planet earth,
really. It really is a peaceful state of mind, a peaceful state of being. But what does it all mean?
And how does that relate to compassion? How does it relate to love? So I'm going to talk about love.
I'm going to talk about compassion. I'm going to talk about peace. I'm going to talk about a few
other things. So I'm really glad we're here. And thank you for being here. It's so important.
So there's another piece of peace. So just like another piece of a pie, another piece of a pizza,
right? Another piece of anything, but there's another piece of peace and that's having compassion
for yourself. Really important. Compassion is the soul of peace. So what is the soul of something?
If you've ever worked on a project, right? Or worked on something, you put your heart and soul
in there. Or if you ever did cooking or you're a chef or not even a chef, you're just at home and
you actually cook for your family and you cook for your friends and you're their
chef or however it works, isn't there soul in that food that you put in? Isn't there a love in that
food? And I'm sure you do. I'm sure you put, I've heard that so many times that, Hey, you know,
there's, there's soul in this food. I put my soul, my heart is in this food. I put my love into this
food, you know, into a passion project. And I put my love and my heart is in that passion project,
whatever that might be. It doesn't mean, it doesn't matter what it is. It doesn't matter
If it's big or small or, you know, or maybe somebody else doesn't really know about it
or understand it, it's something that privately you have in your life and you're putting something
into it.
You know, I used to sit, you know, in the woods and I used to sit there and I used to
draw on the ground in the dirt and make little pictures and things like that.
And nobody knew I ever did that, but I was passionate about it and my heart and soul
went into it.
It went into actually making these little sketches in the dirt while being in the woods or on the beach in the sand.
And I never told anybody about it.
Nobody ever knew I was doing it.
But my heart was in it.
And my soul was in it.
And when I got up from that beach or got up out of the woods, off the ground in the woods,
and I stood there and I looked at it, and I said, yeah, a piece of my soul went into that work.
a piece of my soul, a piece of my heart. And it went into that. And some of my love went into
that work. So the thing is with peace is compassion is the soul of peace. So that's the whole thing.
We have a soul. We put our heart and soul into things. But peace isn't just its own word. Peace
isn't just its own thing. It has something else going on. It has a more of a depth to it. So it's
not just about a peaceful situation. It's not just about peace in the moment, peace in the world.
There's something that has to be a part of it in order to truly have peace, in order to truly
source that peace. So when we put our soul into something that we love, it makes it more fuller.
It makes it more real, tangible, more powerful.
So when you're cooking, you know, when you're putting your heart and soul into that cooking,
that's a big deal there.
When you're doing something or a project or something that privately or something people
know of or something you're proud of, you're adding something to it.
You're adding soul.
Your soul to it is literally your soul print is being put upon that.
How important that really is.
Well, the very thing with peace, there's a connection to it and it's called compassion.
True peace, the power of peace, the path to peace, the life of peace and the source of peace,
the answer to peace, the creator of peace. All of these things, all of these things have to have
compassion within it. It's the soul of peace itself. We all think that peace is just an absence
of pain, an absence of disease, or an absence of hatred, right? When you think about, hey, no, no,
wait a minute, I want a peaceful situation. I don't want any hatred going on right now.
Or wait, I don't, you know, there's not going to be peace if violence is going on. So we think
about peace being something like that, where, or wait a minute, there's suffering, so obviously
there's no peace involved or wait a minute, there's pain. So there's no peace involved.
So we often think that just peace means there's just an absence of pain and suffering, disease,
hatred, violence, or war when it's also about this presence of compassion. And that's the key.
It has to have that presence of compassion because without that compassion, really there
isn't any peace. There just, there can't be. There can't be. Because true peace actually has a soul.
It's not empty, like an empty word. Because it can be an empty word in two seconds flat.
It can be an empty word like peace. Hey, whatever. It could be empty. Absolutely.
But there has to be compassion behind it within it.
If a war stops, it has to be not just because of a deal being drawn or done.
Because deals being done isn't compassion.
That's not compassion.
When a war ends of any kind, a conflict ends,
did it end because both sides finally agreed upon something that they could both live with?
That's not compassion.
with everybody getting hurt in the middle of it.
Same thing if it's not something like on a catastrophic level,
like a war or anything,
and it's catastrophic instead in somebody's life.
How about that?
As if it's in somebody's life where there's a conflict going on.
Does that conflict cease to exist
because of a contract drawn upon each other?
Maybe a divorce.
Maybe a business agreement.
Maybe just, you know, maybe you're just in school
and you're battling another student
with who's going to take what project done
and how can we agree on something and make it all work.
Is compassion involved in any of that?
To bring about that temporary state of peace?
Because that's what happens.
Because all wars start and restart,
and conflicts start and restart, and everything goes on.
And so that variety of peace
might have been kind of empty.
That variety of peace might not have had compassion instilled in it.
The soul of peace, the very thing that peace is really,
true peace is made up of.
And so when we think about peace, you know, not having peace,
or we think about it's an absence of the pain and suffering,
the disease, the hatred, the violence, the war, and everything else,
and we think about, hey, that means we don't have peace going on on any level.
Really, it's more than that.
It's even more than all of that
because it doesn't mean compassion was involved.
Instead, deals were made that were not,
doesn't mean compassion had anything to do with it.
There's a temporary peaceful status in the moment
before another disruption, another conflict,
confrontation with somebody, another issue, another heartbreak, another letdown, another
fracture in the soul because someone hurts you so bad emotionally, mentally, you know,
hits the core of who you are and takes you down. And we have to dust ourselves off and try to
fight back up again. Was compassion involved in any piece, in any situation? It has to be.
It's critical. It's the soul. It's the soul of peace. I love self-compassion because self-compassion
is so critical. If you don't have self-compassion, you can get in trouble. See, self-love is not the
same thing as self-compassion, you guys. It's just not. You can love yourself and that's positive.
It's positive to love yourself. There's nothing wrong with that. It's okay. Because when you
love yourself, you're loving about who you are. You're loving who you are. You're appreciating
who you are. And that's great. We need that. And it can reach into accepting even who you are. So
when you love yourself, you can accept who you are. You can appreciate who you are. And that's
a big deal. So I think self-love is okay. I really do. It's not the end all. We can get in trouble
with self-love. We can get into a lot of trouble with self-love. There's no question. See,
self-compassion is not self-love. Much more powerful, much more sustaining. So I want to go
into that a little bit. So when it's self-love, it's about loving who you are, which I really like.
It's about appreciating who you are and it can reach into accepting who you are and all that's
really important. It can even accept of what you look like. So when you love yourself, you can even
accept how you look and what you look like, which is so critical and so important because it's so
sad when we don't like what we look like or something we don't like about ourselves or love
about ourselves. And self-love seems to work perfectly for people when everything is going
great though. It's really interesting how it works. So self-love seems to be going great when
things are going great. But if someone goes through a hardship and they're struggling or
they finally suffer for one time in their life and they never had that before, they go through a
hardship, and so forth, that's when the game changes. Self-love doesn't mean you're granting
yourself a healing. You're granting yourself forgiveness. It doesn't. Self-love, it doesn't
create that. You could be loving yourself one minute, you're going along and you're loving
yourself and everything's going fine. And then you run into a problem and you run into a hardship
and you run into suffering and all of that,
and self-love doesn't cut it anymore.
It can go into a different situation.
See, compassion is what protects us, self-compassion,
because the minute we hit a hardship,
if we don't have that self-compassion,
which holds the healing, then we get in trouble.
Self-love alone cannot grant you peace.
it cannot grant you peace. When your focus is on loving yourself, it can accidentally bleed
over into loving yourself more than anybody around you. Compassion is what wakes us up to
the wider world, to the people around us. So it's not just about us all the time.
Love is not even what keeps two people together. It's not. Because then all of a sudden,
I mean, it all depends, right?
When we're in a throes of a new romance and a throes of a new relationship
and finances are flowing okay and life is rosy,
love can be plenty and all you need in that relationship.
But when a challenge comes along, for a lot of people, love is no longer enough
because human love is not the creator of peace.
How many relationships have you seen out there where,
I love you and I love you and I love you until the day something goes wrong and the members of
the couple become mortal enemies. Loving another can turn into hating a person very fast unless
compassion's involved. Compassion is critical. In a relationship, having compassion for the other
will sustain the love. In a relationship, having compassion is so critical. It can not only sustain
the love. But it can even do more than sustaining the love. They can make the love so valuable and
so worth it and so strong and never weak and never weakened. Loving another can turn around
to hating a person really fast unless compassion's involved. Compassion is the glue. It's the glue
like component in a relationship.
Compassion is the glue.
It keeps love alive and breathing
and stops love from becoming sour
and turning to heat or just turning off.
If you look at love as an apple,
compassion is the core.
So critical.
If you look at love like something,
like an apple, I love that one.
Then you know the compassion part is the core.
and then love has strength. It's strong. It can't be broken. And that's the thing with relationships.
They come and go in different situations because the love might've been there for a minute.
And people confuse that with lust. And they think maybe it was just lust. And that's all it was.
Really what it was, whether it's lust, love, or however you want to put it, it was just lacking
compassion is what it was. Lacking compassion. So self-compassion is critical because we go
through these hard times. And if we just have self-love for ourselves, which is still powerful
in some way, don't get me wrong, because it's about appreciating yourself. It's about accepting
who you are. It's about accepting what you look like. Self-love is definitely good. I said that
and I do like it. I think it's okay. But the compassion has to be there. So when we run into
bumpy times. We're not going into self-hatred. So loving yourself without having the self-compassion
can flip to hating yourself way too easily. If you're suddenly facing a problem, chronic illness,
like so many people that are looking for help through the medical medium books and
the liver rescue book and everything else, and they're getting answers and they get their first
chronic illness or they've been sick a long time and they need the truth and the answers.
In fact, I'm getting so much of this information,
I put so much of this information that we're talking about right now in Live a Rescue.
So if you need to get Live a Rescue to see that information,
so you can actually read it to yourself and really understand it,
you can go and find the Live a Rescue book.
And you can even go to the library and take out the Live a Rescue book for free
if you have to do that, anything to get this information.
so what happens is when we're loving ourselves without having self-compassion it could flip to
hating yourself too easily if you're suddenly facing chronic illness or an emotional challenge
self-love can vanish instantly or quickly and self-hatred can take its place there's so many
people i've seen where they get their first situation where they have an emotional hardship
or their first situation where they're dealing with symptoms aches and pains and tingles and
numbness and all kinds of diagnoses and autoimmune thinking their body's destroying itself and
thyroid problems and Hashimoto's, everything I talk about in the medical meeting books,
all of these things and everything I provide answers for. So people have the truth and the
answers for all these different illnesses. When people get these illnesses, they get in trouble
because instantly self-loves, whatever the self-love they've had. I've seen this happen
to so many young people. They have self-love and they love, they appreciate things and they
appreciate themselves and they learn to do that. And then they get hit with a little bit of
Hashimoto's thyroiditis or they get some SIBO or they get some bloating or they get some migraines
or anxiety and depression. And instantly self-hatred comes clicking in. It comes rolling in.
And that self-hatred is one of the greatest obstacles of peace. Because we're still talking
about peace, you guys. That self-hatred is one of the greatest obstacles to peace.
i've seen this before all the time when an athlete is injured it can soon quickly to self-hatred
because she feels disconnected from herself and can't achieve like she did before so there's a
letdown and the mom who could take care of everything everything run the house work a career
or all above or just some of the things and taking care of the children and taking care of everybody
and family members and all the different things
and checklists getting done left and right.
I'm bummed, it takes care of everything
until symptoms come in and these symptoms come
and the doubt sets in and all of a sudden failure
seems to set in and self-love does not cover that.
It's not an insurance policy to covering that.
Self-compassion is, that's where the peace is.
Remember, self-compassion is the core,
is the soul of peace.
Remember at the beginning of this,
I was talking about the soul of peace and what it is.
It's compassion.
So when those symptoms come in,
the mom starts to doubt herself and feels like a failure.
The employee, the employee who had every answer in the workplace
then suddenly can't do his or her job anymore
because of a condition holding her back
may start to actually cause a problem
where people actually despise themselves
if they can't do what they're supposed to do.
The self-hatred kicks in.
Now we can avoid this. We can get out of this. We don't have to suffer from this. We don't,
first of all, there are answers to chronic illness. I talk about it all the time. That's
why they're in the books, which is critical to healing. The other thing is how we see ourselves.
Do we have the self-compassion? Because we have to. Self-love can't keep any of this together
when these things happen, when we're up against things. It's really important.
and so there's so much going on like for instance for example autoimmune autoimmune
is considered the body attacking itself the misguided autoimmune theory of the body attacking
itself that's disastrous because that's not how it works and it's not true it was a theory in the
1950s and they still hold on to it because they don't have answers for chronic illness
so when you get a diagnosis of Hashimoto's RA rheumatoid arthritis even Lyme disease now or
anything, you're told that you have autoimmune and that's what's going on and your body's attacking
itself, destroying itself. This is misinformation. Finally, then information is getting out there
through the medical medium, literature and books and all that we're putting out there, but still
so many don't know about it yet. Or what about the misguided genetic theory that says your faulty
genes create illness? Self-love is not going to hold that one together. The misguided attempts to
explain illness by saying you manifested it. That one's tricky.
Got to look out for that one. Because if you think you manifested
your illness, and maybe you look, you know, if you think you manifested
a junky car that you bought, and you say like, well, I manifested the wrong
car. Yeah, that's a different story. But if you think you manifested an actual
illness, we got to be careful about that. Really careful.
Because once you go there, it can go into failure.
it can go into self-hatred really fast. So you got to be very careful. So when we think our body's
attacking itself like the autoimmune theory where the body's attacking itself, that's wrong
information, completely 100%, or the misguided genetic theory where every time you get an
illness, it's always genes, your faulty genes, because they don't have answers yet. Or even
the misguided attempts to explain illness by saying you manifested it. And I'm not saying
manifestation isn't real or positive or anything like that. That's not it at all. I'm saying when
it comes down to chronic illness and it comes down to you getting sick or getting symptoms
or a loved one or family member or a child you know or anybody. Did a child manifest sickness?
Did a child manifest chronic illness? No, of course not. Of course not. So you have to be
careful about that one. Because all of these things are the ultimate peace destroyers of the
body, mind, soul, heart, and spirit.
And if there's no self-compassion,
if there's no self-compassion there
to be deeply rooted in the core,
the soul of peace,
there won't be any peace
because self-love will not keep it all together
and protect anyone.
It's positive.
It can be useful,
but it can protect you when you're up against something.
And everybody seems to be always being up against something
no matter what it is, emotional struggle, emotional challenge, or anything.
And so all of this is critical to know.
You know, any time we get a symptom or a pain,
and the longer the pain or symptoms around,
the further away self-compassion feels,
and I understand that. And self-love disappears as we have that symptom or illness or that issue.
We ask ourselves instead, what's wrong with me? What's wrong with me? What is wrong with me?
That's what we ask ourselves. But in truth, compassion never leaves us. It's there.
It's just something we have to connect to and obtain. While compassion may seem like it's gone,
Really, it's closer than ever before, waiting for us just to reach out and find it.
But I have to tell you something, without compassion and self-compassion,
self-hatred can take a life of its own.
It's a beast.
It's a beast that can't be tamed with anything other than compassion.
That's how it works.
With self-hatred, nothing can tame it.
Nothing.
you know except for compassion did you ever have a little bit of self-hatred a little bit of
disappointment in yourself and someone pat at you on the back and they said listen you're a good
person you didn't do anything wrong it was a mistake it's not your fault it's not who you are
you're not a bad being you're not a bad soul you're not a bad person you're not an evil person
you don't have bad intentions you're a good valuable person you have value you have worth
you're worth it. If anyone ever said any of that, even one little word out of that,
and they put their hand on your back, or a friend put their hand on your shoulder,
and even if they didn't put their hand on your shoulder, and just a family member, a friend said
that one day, there was compassion in that. And that's the only thing that can tame self-hatred.
And if you can't find it from somebody else, because a lot of people have hard lives, and
they can't find it from somebody else, they can't find it from a friend, they can't find it from a
loved one. They can't find it from a husband. They can't find it from anybody else or a wife,
or they can't find it from who knows who or a coworker or anybody else, a co-student. They
can't find it. And they can go into a dark place and they can go into self-hatred. And that's why
self-compassion is so critical. Like I said, it's the core. It's the soul of peace. It's the glue
of everything. And I'm going to go into a little bit more about what it's the glue of, because
This is so critical.
This is a big deal.
It's everything.
And if we have a little bit of that self-compassion,
that self-love won't be enough.
If we have a little bit of that self-compassion
and we're going through that hard time
and we make that mistake
because everybody makes mistakes.
Now, whether we like it or not, we just do.
We make mistakes.
I make mistakes.
We all make mistakes.
It happens every day.
And if we don't have that self-compassion,
that self-hatred becomes a beast and it gets ugly and it's ugly and it gets worse and it has a life
of its own and how do you tame it well you got a couple of options if there is someone that cares
about you and they ever did put their arm around you for a second and say look it's going to be
okay you're a good person that's how it's tamed because that's somebody offering compassion to
you and you might even see that so you can offer that to somebody else because that's how it's
tamed. You better believe it. Another way it's tamed is having that self-compassion for yourself
and believe it. You can. I'm going to talk about it. You can, and it's there. And so when something
goes wrong or something doesn't go right or whatever it is, it could be mild. It could be
something that somebody else doesn't think is even that wrong. But for you, it hurts you because
you're a different person because you can feel different things and it'll hurt you. And yeah,
and we, no one has the right to tell you what you should be hurt by or not hurt by.
Absolutely. All of this is so important. So self-hatred can take a life of its own. It's the beast that can't be tamed with anything other than compassion.
the self-compassion must have meaning within it it can't be an empty word thrown around and i've
seen that out there and it's sad i've seen that i've seen compassion an empty word out there just
being thrown around and that's sad there's substance to compassion it shouldn't be an
empty word that's thrown around and that's what must be tapped into and understood we must tap
into the substance to compassion. Having compassion for yourself is a release of judgment.
That's the only way to release judgment and to release debt because we have self-debt.
Nobody knows that. Nobody likes to be in debt. Nobody wants to be in debt, but yet we're in debt
with ourselves. We really are. There's people out there that I talk to and they're like,
no, I have no debts, got no debts, nothing going on like that. Oh yeah, there's some debts within
there, without a doubt, within the self. And when you have compassion for yourself, it's a permission
slip allowing you to be forgiven for any debts that you have internally as a human being. The
release of any judgment, such a critical part of it all. And that's what self-compassion has.
There are two types of forgiveness.
Because when we have compassion and we can release ourselves of judgment and self-debt
and anything else and we get that permission slip, then we also have the ability to truly
forgive.
There are two types of forgiveness.
The normal forgiveness, hey, I forgive you.
Look, I forgive you.
I forgive you for anything.
Look, we're good.
We're good.
I forgive you on that one.
That was a little blunder and we're all good.
I gotcha.
And then there's that one.
and then there's the compassionate forgiveness.
Compassionate forgiveness is a whole different story.
See, normal forgiveness that I was just saying earlier
doesn't bring with it peace.
So normal forgiveness doesn't have peace with it.
It doesn't have peace attached to it.
There's no peace in there on any level.
There isn't.
But compassionate forgiveness is real forgiveness.
It's real forgiveness.
Having compassion for yourself is a true meaning
of being forgiven.
forgiven, especially for what you might have blamed yourself for that you didn't even create.
Oh my God. So many people blame themselves for things that they didn't even create. It's
unbelievable. And there's only compassion can free us of that. Only compassion can free us
from the judgments we've been placed upon ourselves. And like I said before, the debt that
we have placed inside of us and upon ourselves. Even if we think we made a mistake and we feel
what is a big mistake, compassion can still free us from the greedy beast of self-hatred because
that's what self-hatred is. It's a greedy, ugly beast. That's what self-hatred is. Compassion
can still free us from this greedy beast of self-hatred.
Even if we think we made a mistake
and what we feel is a big mistake,
even if we think it's a big mistake, it doesn't matter.
Compassion actually can free us from that self-hatred.
And chances are that mistake is rather small
in a big picture of things that you might've made.
We've all made mistakes.
If you feel trapped within the prison of one,
because mistakes can feel like a prison,
that this mistake has somehow locked you into the beast of self-blame,
merely the word self-compassion won't release you.
And I know that.
But finding true compassion for yourself is what will unlock the cage.
It will unlock the cage and free you and send the beast away.
Look, self-compassion is a powerful revelation.
It's a moment when you've been driven down to your knees.
And I've been down there.
I've been driven down to my knees. I've had it in my life, not just once. It's a moment when you've
been driven down to your knees and you feel the ultimate blessing. You feel the ultimate blessing
like you've been forgiven. And that's what compassion is. That's what self-compassion is.
You feel the ultimate blessing like you've been forgiven and forgiven from the highest source
above, whatever that source you may believe in, whatever that source is. If that source is light,
if that source is a creator, if that source is the universe, if that source is God,
whatever that source may be, whatever that may be, you've been forgiven by the source above.
It's the feeling that your being matters. It's the feeling that being yourself matters.
It's the feeling of all of it. And it's even more than that. Here's how it works.
when you've been forgiven by that source above and that's what it feels like when you're down
on your knees and you're struggling and you're suffering it's a connection to the knowledge that
god and the heavens care about you it's tapping into this ultimate kindness that's out there for
you at the same time it's within the revelation of self-compassion kicks out self-hatred it
removes the venomous poison from your veins and from your soul because that self-hatred
is like, it's like venom that sits inside the soul, inside the veins. It's poisonous.
And that for being forgiven, when you've been forgiven, it's from the highest source,
it's compassion and self-compassion because that's the power of self-compassion. It's the
power of that revelation. It's a revelation you've been forgiven by the highest source,
been forgiven by God.
And it removes that from the veins
and from your soul, that self-hatred.
You know, it's said out there that God is love.
When God is not love alone, though,
that's the only thing.
See, we're always saying God is love
and God is love, and I hear that out there.
And I understand because that's half right.
God is unconditional love.
and we know that. It's unconditional love. But what makes God's love unconditional?
What does that? God's love is unconditional because the compassion is so strong within it
and they become one in the same and peace is there too. It's where peace, love, and compassion
all reside, all reside in its most powerful state of all.
And we use the term love because it's part of it,
but there's two other aspects because then comes the peace
and then comes the compassion.
All three are in there.
Our human mind always puts conditions upon our love
for ourselves and others.
There's always conditions.
We know that.
And God is unconditional love
because it has the compassion in there.
We can't help it.
We do that.
We put conditions on everything.
We think we can feel unconditional love.
What we can really do is tap into compassion,
though, alongside our love.
Compassion plus love,
that's the ultimate human version of unconditional love.
Now, God's version is much more powerful.
It's much bigger than that.
It's much bigger than that.
it's got the peace in there all the time.
It's got the unconditional love based upon, yes,
the power of compassion with the ultimate love.
But for humans, we can tap into that without a doubt.
We can get the human version of that.
We can.
It's compassion plus love.
I know that God's unconditional love is bigger and more powerful.
to feel anything approaching that toward ourselves or other people
to experience a sense of peace.
It's compassion we need to find.
So if we want to tap in to God's love to that extent,
then we have to tap into that self-compassion,
that compassion we have to tap into that peace.
Often when people think they have compassion for themselves,
it's really confidence.
So that's what we build the world on now.
It's all about confidence.
It's not compassion.
It's all about confidence.
The minute something goes wrong, though,
confidence, like love, can disappear and go away.
You see, when we love somebody or we love something,
if we don't have compassion for that somebody,
that love can go away like I talked about earlier.
It can be I love you, I love you,
and there's this relationship and something falls apart
because the compassion wasn't there.
The compassion is the glue to love,
and I talked about that earlier.
often when people think they have compassion for themselves,
though it's really confidence,
and we build the world on confidence now, not compassion.
And we build the world on loving ourselves now.
And that's, like I said, that's still positive.
Confidence is positive.
We need confidence.
Loving ourselves is positive.
We need that.
But the minute something goes wrong,
confidence like love goes away.
So confidence like self-love can go away,
can disappear. You can shape your whole entire lifetime around confidence and it can get you
through as a tool. Believing in yourself is powerful because of your achievements. And in
the end, if you can't achieve though, bigger and better, or if you fail at something, confidence
and belief in yourself can disappear with the flick of a switch. Like love, self-love can
disappear if something goes wrong. With the light off and that switch off and the lights off,
the darkness of self-doubt takes its place. And self-doubt is another angry beast. It's another
untamed beast that we don't want out of control. And it's self-doubt. And if it takes its place,
we get in trouble. Confidence is important. Like I said, we should all hold on to it when we can.
I try to, others should try to, all of you should.
It doesn't have the strength of compassion.
It just doesn't have the strength of compassion.
It just doesn't.
And it's so critical that it does.
It needs that.
It doesn't have the strength of compassion.
Confidence is not the answer to self-hatred.
It's not the answer to self-doubt.
It's not the home of peace.
Confidence comes and goes with the wind and the changing of the wind whichever direction
it blows.
Confidence can wane.
It can wax.
It can alter.
It can change.
It can shift.
Confidence can go one way or another.
If there's no compassion when your confidence drops away, the damage becomes extreme to
the health of your soul and your body.
If you hold compassion within and self-compassion for yourself, you are a good person.
You didn't do anything wrong.
You were never a bad person.
You don't have bad intentions.
Your past lives aren't the ruination of your life now.
You're a good person.
It's not how it works.
You didn't manifest your illness.
You didn't manifest your difficult position.
You are a good person.
You can forge ahead.
You can heal.
You have the right to heal.
You have the God-given right to heal.
You have the God-given right to love again.
You have the God-given right to have compassion for yourself.
You have the God-given right for all of these things.
If you hold compassion within, on the other hand, and you lose your confidence, it won't
phase you.
It won't phase you.
You can lose confidence.
But if you have that compassion, you can lose confidence.
But if you have that compassion, it won't phase you.
It won't touch it.
It won't touch any.
you can't get hurt. You can't get hurt. You can fail at something. You can fail as an athlete.
You can get sick. Someone you had confidence can let you down, but compassion still remains and
you will be okay. Whether you believe in yourself anymore or lose belief in yourself, whether you
don't believe in yourself or anything about it, compassion will hold it all together and keep
that peace state. Keep that state of peace and protect you. Compassion for yourself heals.
It's deep healing power. It can bring you out of your illness so that you can gain confidence back
again and your belief in yourself back again. It becomes stronger and stronger and stronger
so you can get your confidence back. And I get it. We don't control the world.
There's always going to be non-peace out there.
It's always going to get thrown at us.
We can't control the free will of billions of souls on this planet
because that's the problem,
is others' free will can actually mess us up in some way somehow,
is others' free will.
We can gain control, though, over the peace of ourselves.
You better believe it.
We can gain control over the peace in ourselves.
We can work on creating peace within our bodies.
If we fixate on controlling everyone else's free will,
we're not going to have a lot of peace.
We're not.
And it's not going to bring the peace of people around you,
of those around you.
We can't just focus on that.
I've seen this with iconic figures.
I've seen them live their whole life focused and based on world peace.
But you can't control billions of free wills.
It's not an easy thing to do.
And at the same time, I've seen an iconic figure do this.
And at the same time, their child had no peace whatsoever
because no passion was placed upon their child.
The child just wanted to be acknowledged and accepted.
it. Instead, the child suffered and suffered for years as a child and growing up because
the child's father focused on trying to change the world. The child's father focused on trying
to bring peace to the world, change the free will of billions. It's a classic case of how
we can focus sometimes in the wrong direction. The child was let down and peace wasn't brought
to the child on any level. And sure, your goal can be world peace and you can still have compassion
for your child, but I've seen an iconic figure not do that. I've seen it happen with others too.
The plumber who can't get to the plumbing in their own home, it's not her fault. She needs to make a
living focused on everybody else's bathrooms and everybody else's sinks and everybody else's showers
and tubs. The proverbial shoemaker whose children have no shoes or they have holes in their shoes.
I understand that's justifiable. The handcrafter needs every piece of leather to put food on the
table, every scrap of leather in order to make sure the family has food on the table. What's
not justifiable is when the peacemaker's children have no peace, the hobbyist peacemaker, the
passion-driven person who follows the delusion that he'll be able to control the free will of
over 7 billion people and that his lofty goal exempts him from obligations to those closest
to him or closest around him. It works against the very dream of having peace. That's because
there's a difference between passion and passion projects and compassion. I want to tell you that
There's a difference between compassion and passion.
So that's, we have passion for so many things,
but that's not compassion.
We have compassion for so many things.
We have compassion to do things, to want to succeed,
to do all kinds of different things,
but we can leave the compassion out of compassion.
It's not the same thing.
And we get confused just like with love.
It's the same thing.
And just like with love, it does hold its value,
but yet we get lost putting everything into our passions.
And then there's no compassion in love
and it falls apart, like I said earlier.
See, passion is not a free pass.
It's not, I'm sorry, but it's not.
It's good that we have passion.
We should be passionate about our projects and our lives
and other things.
We should have passion,
but it's not a free pass for having compassion.
It's just not.
If you have passion for someone,
it's not the same as having compassion for that person.
There are people that have passion for others,
passion in an attraction,
passion in a lustful way,
Passion in other kinds of ways.
Passion in all kinds of different levels.
But no compassion for the person though.
And then it goes sour.
Compassion and passion are mixed up really easily at times.
People believe they're one and the same.
If you have passion for a charitable cause,
it doesn't mean you're going to have compassion for it
and the people it serves.
Maybe you do feel that compassion.
it's not automatic if you have passion though.
That's the difference.
Although so often passion is seeming like it's compassion.
They're two separate things.
They're two separate forces.
If you have a passion for a certain pastime or mission,
that doesn't equate to putting compassion into pursuing it
or remembering to look up from your singular focus to take care of yourself.
we get fixated all the time on passion and passion projects
we always do all of us have passion about something but we have to remember we also
have to have compassion at home and for the ones we love we need to walk in that shoe of peace
their shoes of peace our shoes of peace we can't mistake passion for compassion it's an absolute
disaster when it's mistaken. If we look at the examples throughout history of those who
pursued a passion for world peace or other things and neglecting to tap into compassion,
that's when it's become disastrous. Only when love and confidence and forgiveness
and passion come together with compassion can they drive us toward a better world.
I want to talk about free will for a couple of minutes if we're in a good place here.
I know this is really intense.
Every time I even talk about this, I mean, I get kind of choked up inside.
My heart starts to feel, you know, kind of like heavy everything.
I want to talk about free will.
Let's go back to that thought for a little bit.
As important as faith is, faith alone does not create peace around us.
So you know how we have faith.
You have to have faith.
Faith is critical.
Faith is important.
Faith means so much.
We need faith to survive.
But faith alone does not create peace around us.
Every person's free will allows that soul to choose as she or he wants.
And if that's not a peaceful state of some kind, then it's not a peaceful state.
We don't have control over every individual or other individuals.
We don't have control over whether they'll take care of their lives
or experience peace with themselves or take a peaceful route in life.
Still, free will is so necessary.
It grants us the opportunity to be free from others,
from others' designs on our lives.
Our free will can protect us on that level.
It allows us to make mistakes so that we can learn from them.
Free will is also essential to our own personal searches for peace.
Even though free will is what allows some to choose the opposite of peace,
free will, if it didn't exist, we could not choose to search for peace with ourselves.
So many of us have free will, but we actually don't use it for the right thing.
We don't.
We use it for different things, not to search out peace, not to do other things.
And maybe it is the right thing for them.
And we can say that.
It's absolutely.
But having that free will can actually allow us to search out peace, to search out for
it for ourselves and for others.
That's the power of free will.
And you have the free will, and that's what I'm trying to say here.
You have the free will to have self-compassion.
That's what I'm trying to say here.
Others can have the free will to not have self-compassion.
Others can have the free will to not truly have love that has compassion involved in
it.
others can have the free will to do all those different things. But you can have the free will
to get your compassion back or in gear or tap into it than self-compassion to stomp out self-hatred
and self-doubt. You can have that ability with your free will to have all of the things you want,
self-confidence, self-love, self-compassionate, most important, and peace, which is also critical
in every way. It really is. In this world, we may not get the opportunity to be free from every
single concern, the worry, and problem. Come on, you've been around long enough to know that.
we do get our own will
to try to find our own peace and freedom.
So we get our own will.
We have our own will and our own free will
to find our own peace and freedom.
And that's the whole point.
We can choose.
You don't need to be what you think of
as a spiritual person to want peace within yourself.
Someone approached me and said,
I just can't tap into things spiritually. I don't know if I'm a spiritual person.
There's so many people out there. They seem like they got it down. They're meditating in the right
ways and they're wearing certain clothes and they're wearing certain jewelry. And they seem
to have the spiritual thing down and they're connected. I don't think I have that connection.
I don't think I have that. And I don't think I look like them or I'm acting like them or I'm like
them in any way. And it's, it's, it's, I'm not sure if I'm connected spiritually to the ether,
connected to the universe. I'm not, and I've had people come up to me and say all that.
I've had people come up to me and say all that. And that's what they've done. And,
and it's heartbreaking to hear that. And you know what I say to them? I say, you don't need to be
what you think of as a spiritual person to want peace within yourself. Just because someone may
be a spiritual person doesn't mean they have any peace within themselves. I've seen this for decades
and decades in my life. It doesn't mean someone who seems like they got it seemingly all together
as a spiritual person in all kinds of ways. They got all the bells and whistles,
all the bells and whistles of a spiritual person. It doesn't mean they have peace within themselves.
They could be searching for peace continually. Like you may be searching for peace continually,
who may not feel like you have it all down.
You don't need to be what you think of a spiritual person
to want peace within yourself.
You don't need to be some enlightened being
to seek out the basic responsible direction of finding peace.
If you feel you're maybe not a spiritual type of person,
it doesn't mean you don't have the power and glory
of seeing what's right and wrong around and inside of you
or the God-given right to obtain anything you want to obtain within peace
and compassion and love and self-compassion.
You could be a working mom who doesn't have time to dedicate yourself
to spiritual books and classes or opportunities or all of that
or head to your favorite sanctuary or church
or monument for regular devoted prayer or shrine.
It doesn't mean you're not spiritual.
don't let this make you feel like you're not enlightened enough either if you're looking
around and thinking that another like maybe a spiritual seeking neighbor has more peace within
herself or himself don't worry i mean i see it on the internet everywhere it's all over social
media and everything a lot of people they they seem like they have it down on a spiritual level
and i have people come to me every day and say hey you know this person has it so down they go
look what they got going on. They seem like the most grounded spiritual person ever. And I said,
just, you can't see it that way. We're all human beings. We all struggle. The bells and whistles
don't necessarily mean what's going on with all of it. The bells and whistles don't necessarily mean
it is what it is. What's happening is we all have the inner struggle of trying to find peace.
whether we whether we cover ourselves in the bells and whistles and the flash and seem like
the most spiritual person and seem like we got it all down and seem like we're influencers
don't let that throw you from what you need to achieve for your self-compassion and what you
need to achieve for your inner peace don't let that throw you in the wrong direction it can go
into self-doubt fast it could go into self-hatred fast don't think somebody else is manifesting
everything under the sun and you're just not capable of it and that's what it is because
they got it all down and you see it on social media, you see it anywhere else, you see it
on television or you see it somewhere in the movies, don't think that at all.
Don't get fooled by that.
Everybody has the struggle.
It doesn't mean they have the inner peace.
And once that confidence wanes or they get sick or something hits them, they're going
to be down on their knees looking for that compassion.
But you can get that compassion.
You can get that self-compassion.
You can be somebody so not spiritual on any way, on any level, so not spiritual on all
the bells and whistles on any level, but have that self-compassion so rooted in you and somebody
could have all the flash and all the pompous and all the circumstance and all the flash and be on
there, out there. And the minute they have their first hardship and they're down on their knees,
they're searching for that self-compassion and that flash isn't going to protect them.
The self-confidence and the self-love is not going to protect them. But with you,
you can be someone that doesn't even know how to ding a bell.
doesn't even know how to ding a bell
or light incense or whatever
and you can have the most compassion
don't let that throw you
and if you know how to ding a bell
it's all the same
you can get that compassion
you can get that peace
it's all the same
no matter what you're doing
you don't have to be that person
that's into every single thing there is.
You can be that mom that doesn't have time to do anything
or find herself on any of that level
and get to that place where that enlightened avenue
that we all think we need to go into.
If you're looking around and thinking that
another neighbor may be more spiritual, enlightened,
has more peace within himself or herself,
don't worry.
You don't need to circle the globe and pray on top of a mountain
in order to find or sustain peace.
Being spiritual is a mindset that many people choose,
and it doesn't mean their hearts are truly in it.
People who spend a lifetime searching for peace on retreats and ventures
have difficulty finding it.
And I want them to find it, and I want you to find it too.
I've seen people come down from their mountaintop retreats
after 30 days or 6 months, and they still don't have peace
because the self-compassion wasn't there.
It was built on confidence and self-love.
And even if that wasn't there, they still didn't have peace.
Some people use their wealth to put themselves in the most glorious surroundings
that I've ever seen in my time that I've ever heard of in anything else.
They put this, they do this, and I've seen it.
They've sent me pictures and photographs,
unbelievable things that I've seen through that avenue of photographs
and everything else.
And they find those moments of peace and spirituality.
But it may not be sustained unless they have the self-compassion.
Little do they know they've been searching for all the wrong thing to begin with
because it's the self-compassion that's the critical.
In order to get that peace, it's not the mountaintop.
It's not the wealth.
It's not whatever.
They need to be seeking compassion in order to have that peace.
You could be in a straw shack, in a straw bed, in a squalor, in squalor, starving,
and which soars all over your body
and you may have more peace
and more self-compassion and compassion
than someone in the greatest riches
in the most pristine, beautiful environment
on the planet.
It's all about whether you're tapping into compassion
for yourself and others
and that's what it's about.
The same path to peace is available to you
as to anyone who's gone on month-long retreats
or climb the highest mountains.
The same compassion is available to you and others.
Doesn't matter if they prayed
in the most beautiful sanctuaries all over the world
and traveled.
The same opportunity and the same path of peace
is available to you regardless.
The key is you must use your free will
to draw on self-compassion.
We can do this.
We have control over this.
This is something we actually have control over
because that's the whole thing.
We never think we have control over anything,
but we really do.
And this is what we really have control of
because we don't have control of other people.
We don't have control of all the others
and what people do with their own free will.
We must use our free will to draw on self-compassion.
We can do that and use that self-compassion
to choose what we're going to do with it.
so we can choose what we're going to use it for.
What are we going to use that self-compassion for?
Is it to put our hand on a friend?
Is it to put our hand on a loved one and say how much you care
and how much they do matter to them?
Or it's going to be all right.
It is because all storms pass.
They really do.
Nothing stays the same.
All storms pass at some point,
and it's not someone's bad intentions.
It's not that they're a bad person.
It's not that they're an evil person.
It's not that anything of the sort.
or they deserve something to be bad to happen to them,
or they deserve their peace disrupted
because people think they actually deserve it.
They think when something happens to them,
they think they deserve it.
We often think if something bad happens to us,
we deserve it, that we lose our peace
when we think we caused something bad to happen to us.
We have to be seers.
You're a seer.
You have to see yourself as a seer.
You have to look past whatever storm
that's being thrown upon you
because the storms come.
They come when things happen or mistakes are made or someone says you did this or that
or you feel you're a bad person or a failure or something went wrong.
You need that hand on your back.
And if that hand can't be from someone, then it has to come from God above.
It has to come someplace, a source that's going to say it's going to be okay
and the storm is going to pass.
And you have to know that because that's the truth.
Whether anyone likes it or not, the storm will pass.
And you have to be a seer, a seer of that.
We must look past the storm while it's happening by knowing that the storm is ruled by law and will eventually pass because that's what happens.
A storm is ruled by law, a law that says it will pass.
There's no other way around it.
We must see through and beyond the darkness of the storm to have peace and also to have compassion for ourselves to stand the storm, to stand within the storm and be and get through it.
We must look ahead.
We can't fear what's around us.
We have to become comfortable with it
because anything that happens doesn't define who we are.
Bad is not us.
We're not bad.
No matter what you think or believe, bad is not you.
And that storm is not you.
And it will pass and you will get through it.
And you will be able to tap upon compassion
and keep the love strong and get the peace you deserved.
That concludes this hour.
And I know we all have it in us.
We all have that compassion.
I love you.
Bless your heart.
Take care.
And I hope you know this, that we all have the ability to heal.
Bye now.
Thank you for tuning in to the You Can Heal Your Life Summit, hosted by Hay House.
